Create File
Description
The Create File action creates an empty file. This is useful for creating trigger files from within workflows.
Options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
Action name |
The name of the workflow action. |
File name |
The name and path of the file to create an empty file. |
Fail if file exists |
The workflow action will follow the failure outgoing hop when the file to be created already exists (empty or not) and this option is switched on. |
Add filename to result |
Add the filename for the file that was created in this action to the results. |
Result
What this action passes on to the next action. See Action results for how results travel through a workflow.
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
True |
The file was created, with any missing parent folders, or it already existed and Fail if file exists is off. |
False |
The file already exists and Fail if file exists is on, with 0 errors, or no File name is set, also with 0 errors. When the file can’t be created, for example in a folder that can’t be written, the number of errors is 1. |
Result files |
With Add filename to result, the file is added, also when it already existed, even when the action is false because of Fail if file exists. |
Result rows |
Passed on unchanged. |
